Use this information to help you plan your visit ahead of time

  • Tour Length

    Generally a minimum of 1 hour is required for either a guided or self-guided tour. People with a keen interest have been known to stay up to 3 hours!

  • Parking

    There is free on street parking on Emmet square and the surrounding streets. Alternatively there is pay and display car parks at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, located just off Emmet Sq. and Kent St. Just around the corner.

  • Lunch

    Need a break? Hungry? The Emmet Hotel, located just across the road from the museum, provides a wide range of options from light bites to full dinners, teas and coffees and snacks. Take a break have a coffee and come back to explore some more.

  • Gift Shop

    Our Gift shop stocks a range of memorabilia, artwork, interesting history books you won’t find anywhere else and more. Be sure to set aside some time to browse, sit back and relax.

  • Photograph Policy

    Hand-held cameras may be used in the museums. However the use of flash, video cameras, tripods and other digital equipment is not permitted.
    Photographs taken in the museums can only be used for personal use. Commercial use of any kind is not permitted. However, please feel free to use photographs taken in the museums on Facebook or other social media platforms!
